A judge in the Ramsey County District Court in Minnesota has denied a request for a temporary restraining order and has dismissed the case filed by Leslie Davis, who had sought to prevent Jesse Ventura from appearing at Summerslam this Sunday. Davis had filed the case individually and as president of the Earth Protector Environmental Group, and told 1Wrestling.com "It's a sad day for the state of Minnesota." Davis had sought to show that as an employee of the state of Minnesota, that Gov Ventura was bound by state ethic laws dealing with conflict of issues claims. Common Cause Minnesota has also filed a complaint in Minnesota seeking to stop Jesse Ventura's appearance at Summerslam. The group alleges a conflict of interest and says Ventura has used his official position to "secure benefits for himself which are distinct from benefits available to the general public." The group also alleges that Ventura "may be called upon to make official decisions now or in the future regarding the Target Center or the WWF". Ventura's office calls the complaints "irritating". |
